Everton transfers - Gabriel Barbosa £40m and ex-Liverpool midfielder monitored

After making their first three signings of the Rafa Benitez era two weeks ago, Everton's fans are now waiting for more update on the club's transfer business.

Demarai Gray, Andros Townsend and Asmir Begovic all joined the club earlier this month as the Blues kicked off their pre-season campaign in Florida.

Everton start their Premier League campaign at home to Southampton a week on Saturday and the rumour mill continues to churn plenty of speculation out.

As a result, Benitez's side are being linked with plenty of stars now that the summer window has arrived, but who else can we expect to see at Goodison Park?

We take a look at the latest gossip from around the globe and rate how likely they are to happen.

Who?

Brazilian attacker Gabriel Barbosa.

Where?

The Daily Mirror.

What?

The report claims that Everton are interested in signing Barbosa this summer.

The 24-year-old has reportedly appeared on the Blues radar and a fee in the region of £40million would be enough to tempt Flamengo to part ways with their prized asset.

The article states David Moyes' West Ham are also keen on getting the player to the London Stadium as they’re in the hunt for a striker since Sebastien Haller’s departure in January.

Last season, 'Gabigol' as he is nicknamed in his homeland, ended the campaign with 14 goals and two assists in 25 appearances.

Who?

Lazio star Joaquin Correa.

Where?

Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport.

What?

Lazio president Claudio Lotito, according to the report, has set his asking price for Blues 'target' Joaquin Correa.

It was reported earlier this week that Everton had submitted a bid for the Argentine attacker, but that is yet to be confirmed.

With increased interest in Correa from a number of clubs across Europe, Lotito, the report claims, has demanded a minimum of €30million for his transfer.

During his time at the Stadio Olimpico, he has scored 30 goals in all competitions - helping his side lift the Coppa Italia trophy in 2019, where he scored his team's second in the final against Atalanta.

Correa's impressive form for his club has led to him achieving eight caps for the Argentina national team.

Who?

Preston North End youngster Lewis Leigh.

Where?

football.london.

What?

The report claims that Everton are reportedly one of many clubs that are monitoring Leigh.

Leigh, who is a central midfielder, joined the Lilywhites at Under-14s level after being released by Liverpool.

Now, after a number of impressive displays for Preston’s Under-18s, he is seemingly attracting interest from a host of Premier League sides.

The 17-year-old was named on the bench for a Championship fixture last season, with the report also suggesting that the talented youngster is expected to sign a new contract at Deepdale - as he enters the final year of his scholarship deal.
