Everton's defeat to Manchester United on Saturday afternoon may have proved that Rafa Benitez still needs to add to his squad before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

What?

Everton are reportedly exploring the option of signing PSV Eindhoven and Holland right-back Denzel Dumfries on a loan deal this summer.

Dumfries captured the eyes of many with his impressive performances at Euro 2020, as he was one of the few positives for the Oranjes.

The Blues have held lengthy internal discussions about signing the right-back, who is valued at around £15m by the Dutch club

However, following Benitez's appointment, it seems that a loan deal could be realistic initially.

What?

Barcelona's attempt to sort out their financial problems had led to Everton apparently being offered the chance to sign former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

Benitez is reportedly looking to add some creativity to his midfielder before the window closes, as he looks to enhance the service Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin receive on a weekly basis.

While a move for Coutinho wasn't completely ruled out, sources have indicated that the 29-year-old is not currently a player that Everton are pursuing.

What?

Everton have announced an official departure from Goodison Park this morning as young defender Lewis Gibson has joined League One side Sheffield Wednesday on loan as he looks to continue his development.

Gibson enjoyed multiple stints on loan in the Football League season and his next challenge will see him try and help guide the Owls back to the second tier of English football.
