Everton transfers - Blues 'plan' £2m striker bid as Napoli name Lorenzo Insigne price

Everton got their Premier League season underway in style at the weekend, beating Southampton 3-1 at Goodison Park.

New signings Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray were both in action for Rafael Benitez's side, though it was Richarlison who stole the show on Saturday afternoon.

Supporters up and down the country were offered a first glimpse of summer recruits and additional business is likely to be done at a number of clubs.

Manchester United have reportedly lowered their asking price for Jesse Lingard from £30million to £20million.

The English midfielder enjoyed productive loan spell at West Ham United last season and has attracted interest the Hammers this summer, along with Arsenal and Everton.

Whether or not the Toffees will decide to move for the 28-year-old remains to be seen.

Everton are preparing an offer for Schalke striker Matthew Hoppe, according to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur.

The 20-year-old forward continues to be linked with a move away from Germany and the Blues are said to be one of those interested.

Konur has claimed that Everton representatives have held talks with Schalke to get 'information' about the American youngster.

He added that the Blues are now planning to bid £2million for Hoppe.

Everton have been told to pay £26million if they want to sign Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne this summer.

A report from Italian news outlet Il Mattino, via Sport Witness, last week claimed that the Blues have contacted Insigne’s agent over a possible deal to bring the player to Goodison Park.

And now according to a latest report, the Serie A side are demanding £26m for the services of the 30-year-old.

Insigne only has one year remaining on his current contract and previously worked with Benitez at Napoli.
