Everton transfer rumours rated - Andrea Belotti bid rejected, Blues launch James Rodriguez move

The Coronavirus pandemic might have stopped football but it will never stop the transfer rumour mill.

And while we might not know when football will resume or when the summer transfer window will ever re-open as FIFA re-jig their calendar, Everton continue to be linked with a whole host of talent.

In an Easter Sunday edition of transfer rumours rated, Theo Squires weighs up the latest Blues transfer gossip and separates the wheat from the chaff.

WHO?

Andrea Belotti. Torino's talismanic leading striker and captain. Just the 85 goals from 178 appearances since moving to the Serie A side in 2015. Not bad, not bad at all.

WHERE?

Reports in Italy, where else? Tuttosport report that Carlo Ancelotti is rather keen on bringing the 26-year-old to Goodison Park this summer and Everton have already seen a €45m bid rejected for his services.

They also add the Blues intend to return with an improved offer for the Italian.

WHAT?

Will Everton really be keen to sign the striker? Hard to say.

They've never really replaced Romelu Lukaku and Belotti could fit the bill.

But with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin so impressive under Ancelotti in his favoured 4-4-2 system, spending big on a striker to displace either of the duo doesn't seem quite right.

WHO?

James Rodriguez. Talented Colombian fella who shone at the 2014 World Cup, earning a move to Real Madrid but has flattered to deceive at both the Bernabeu and on loan at Bayern Munich ever since.

WHERE?

Journalist Nicola Shira claims Everton are set to launch a bid for the playmaker with Real Madrid keen to offload and Rodriguez himself wanting to reunite with his former manager Ancelotti.

WHAT?

If you play in Italy or have played under Ancelotti before, you're going to find yourself linked with a move to Everton at some point these days.

Real Madrid don't want the 28-year-old and will quite happily sell him this summer.

But whether Everton are willing to spend big on a star name that seemingly goes against what Marcel Brands is building on Goodison remains to be seen.

WHO?

Gabriel Magalhaes. Brazilian centre-back who plays for Lille. You've been living under a rock if you don't know this fella by now, he's been linked with Everton for months.

WHERE?

An Instagram Live with Everton midfielder Andre Gomes. No, really.

Gabriel wrote 'Andre Gomes big friend' in the comments section as the Blues star addressed fans and it did not go unnoticed.

WHAT?

Player profile: Gabriel Magalhaes

Well Everton are interested in the 22-year-old who looks certain to leave Lille this summer, that much is true.

However, the ECHO understands they will wait until the full effects of the coronavirus are known before making transfer market moves.

Gabriel isn't daft though and will be well aware of the reports regarding the Blues' interest, and probably a little more behind closed doors too.

One to keep an eye on.
