Everton told to brace themselves for more transfer interest in Idrissa Gueye this summer

An advisor to Idrissa Gueye believes the Everton midfielder will once again the subject of interest this summer transfer window.

Senegal international Gueye was wanted by Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain in January, with the Blues rejecting two bids from the wealthy Parisians.

The second offer - which was believed to be around the £26million mark - was turned away on transfer deadline day as the Blues kept hold of their defensive midfielder.

It's unlikely to be the end of the saga however and PSG have been linked with a return for the 29-year-old when the window re-opens later this year.

Thierno Seydi, who is an advisor to Gueye, said he is certain that the Everton star will once again attract transfer interest when clubs are able to trade freely once more.

In an interview with APS in Senegal (via Sport Witness ), Seydi said: "It’s true that we would have liked him to go to PSG, but this approach brought him to the fore to play in the best teams in the world.

"I’m convinced that a lot of big teams will be interested in him.

"It’s a shame he didn’t move to PSG, but he hasn’t lost everything because he will be one of the most sought after players at the end of the season."

After the move to Paris failed to materialise back in January, Gueye frankly admitted his disappointment saying it was a "dream" to play for a team in the Champions League.

"Everyone knows I was a little disappointed not to join Paris Saint-Germain because they are a big club and every player dreams of playing for this kind of club, to play in the Champions League, to win trophies," he told Canal+.

However, the former Aston Villa star's attitude has been exemplary since PSG's plans fell through and Gueye has been an important part of Marco Silva's side since the window closed.
