Former Premier League defender Danny Mills has claimed that the recent postponements may help Everton in the long run.
The Blues have had their last two matches called off after rising Covid-19 cases in their squad, as well as Newcastle who were meant to be their opponents on Thursday evening.
Recent postponements have meant that Everton haven’t played since the draw away at Chelsea on December 16.
At this stage, there is nothing new to indicate the game against Brighton on Sunday is in doubt.

Mills believes that the recent postponements will have allowed Everton to get some of their injured players back fit.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn’t played since the end of August, while Richarlison is also sidelined.
Yerry Mina, Andros Townsend and Tom Davies have also picked up injuries and been unavailable, but Mills believes the break from action will enable Everton to get their missing players back fit without any damage to the team’s results.
“It might benefit them,” Mills told Football Insider .
*Give us your take on January business:
“With the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin coming back in that time. There will be one or two other players coming back too.
“They were down to the bare bones with injuries. That couple of weeks might have given them a little bit of a reset.
“It’s an opportunity to get one or two players back that they didn’t have previously. Plus, it’s a chance for Rafa to work on things on the training ground as those players do come back.
“A lot of their issues were injuries. Yes, there were Covid issues but a lot of the big players were injured, rather than just Covid issues.
“That can have a positive impact on Everton if Rafa’s had time to work on the training ground.”
