Everton to outline funding plan for new £500m stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock

Everton will reveal how they plan to fund the construction of a £500m stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock once planning permission is granted.

The Blues have today submitted a detailed application to Liverpool City Council which includes changes to the designs that were revealed in the summer.

It is thought that it could take around 16 weeks for Everton to receive a decision on their plans for a 52,000 seater home on the waterfront.

The construction of a new stadium is projected to cost half a billion pounds and though the club have been in talks with a number of potential lenders – including the Council – for some time, chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale says they will not detail their decision until planning permission has been secured.

“Our stadium development team will continue to work on the process of selecting a contractor and finalising our funding solution, which won’t be publicly revealed until after we have successfully gained planning permission,” she said.

At last year's General Meeting, majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri says he expects the club will loan £350m from the private sector and that a naming rights partner, plus £100m in the form of equity capital, could all be part of the funding model.
