Everton to make surgery decision on young striker after training ground injury

Everton have yet to decide if Lewis Dobbin will need surgery on the injury that could spell the end of his season.

The 18-year-old striker has suffered knee damage after coming off worse in a challenge during training at Finch Farm on Saturday.

Dobbin fears the injury will keep him sidelined for up to four months.

But a decision on whether he needs to go under the knife has yet to be taken by Everton's medical chiefs.

The Stoke-born striker is part of David Unsworth's under-23s squad having made his breakthrough at that level last season.

But the teenager has played only for the u-18s this term, scoring twice and laying on two assists in seven league matches.

Dobbin, however, expects his season to be over after sustaining the knee injury in training.
