Everton to face old foes as Premier League 2 season restructured

Everton's under-23s will face Manchester United and West Ham next season in a restructured Premier League 2, it has been confirmed today.

The Premier League have ruled that West Ham are awarded the PL2 Division Two title for last season and will be joined in promotion to Division One by Man United, who finished as runners-up.

Woves were relegated from Division One, which will now have 13 teams in it next season, instead of the usual 12.

The PL2 season was curtailed due to the coronavirus crisis and so the Premier League have confirmed league standings based on points-per-game, with the decision being taken at yesterday's shareholders' meeting.

Everton were seventh at the time of the suspension have been awarded an eighth place finish.

The Blues' u-18s, meanwhile, have been awarded a third place finish for last season based on the same points per game criteria.
