Everton to dip into loan market as transfer business steps up ahead of deadline day

Everton will explore the loan market in the final week of the transfer window.

The Blues are hoping to bolster the squad with another right-back before deadline day.

Marco Silva wants to find cover for first-choice Seamus Coleman but Everton are only looking to bring someone in on loan at this stage.

Everton signed Andre Gomes and Kurt Zouma in deadline day loan moves last summer and it is expected the pursuit of a new right-back will go into the closing stages of the window.

The Blues sanctioned the season-long loan of Jonjoe Kenny to Schalke earlier in the summer and are in need of cover for Coleman.

Mainz midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is close to sealing his £25m move to Goodison while Moise Kean's arrival is expected to be wrapped up over the weekend.

Everton are also in the market for a centre-back and winger before Thursday's 5pm cut off point.
