Everton to assess Fabian Delph ahead of Southampton trip as midfielder misses training

Everton will continue to assess Fabian Delph after he missed training on Tuesday.

The midfielder finished the game with Spurs on Sunday appearing to hold his hamstring and was forced to sit out the session at Finch Farm earlier today.

It is not expected the 29-year-old will take part in training at the club's Halewood base tomorrow but the Blues' medical staff have not given up hope that Delph will be fit for the weekend's trip to Southampton.

Everton will continue treating Delph's injury, yet to be confirmed as a hamstring problem, ahead of the team travelling down to the south coast on Friday afternoon.

Marco Silva is already without Jean-Philippe Gbamin (thigh), Bernard (knee) and Andre Gomes following the midfielder's horror injury sustained on Sunday against Spurs.
