Everton tell Steve Walsh signing he will not be given new contract

Everton midfielder Dennis Adeniran has confirmed he will leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

Adeniran joined Everton from Fulham in the summer of 2017 under the management of Ronald Koeman and director of football Steve Walsh for a fee that could eventually have risen to £4m.

The 22-year-old failed to make a senior appearance after signing but was named on the bench for the Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat to Leicester City last term before being called-up to senior training by Carlo Ancelotti in the summer.

He subsequently joined newly-promoted Championship outfit Wycombe Wanderers on loan at the start of the new campaign and made 18 starts but could not stop their relegation back to League One.

Adeniran posted on social media: "My time at Everton has come to an end. This week I was told by the club I wouldn't be getting a new contract.

"Since signing from Fulham in 2017 I have felt honoured to represent Everton - a huge club with a great history.

"I will leave this club with very fond memories and great affection for all of the staff, colleagues that I’ve had the pleasure to train and play with and the fans.

"I hope to one day come back and play at Goodison Park in front of the amazing Everton fans."
