Everton team news: Marco Silva ready to rotate Toffees for FA Cup clash at Millwall

Everton FC manager Marco Silva may look to make changes for the FA Cup trip to Millwall FC.

With only defender Phil Jagielka sidelined with a muscle injury, the Portuguese has plenty of options at his disposal and is likely to freshen things up after a disappointing defeat at Southampton last weekend.

Defenders Leighton Baines and Yerry Mina could come in, most likely for Kurt Zouma and Lucas Digne, while forwards Theo Walcott and Dominic Calvert-Lewin could also get recalls.

“[Jagielka is] not ready yet,” said Silva. ”It’s possible that he needs one or two more weeks to start training with the squad.

“Apart from that, no big problems; [we had] small problems during the week, but now everyone is OK apart from Jagielka.”

Silva also admitted his delight at the challenge of high expectations.

“It is always fantastic in football when you have the pressure to win games,” Silva told evertontv. “For me, without pressure and without that ambition, it does not make sense when you are working.

“You have to put this passion in your job every day and realise how big the club is where you are working. And [you must have] the ambition – when you are talking about the FA Cup, it is a really important competition for us.

“Not just for us… for many, many clubs. But we have to look inside and say, ‘Okay, it’s really important for us, let’s do our best and everything we can to get in the next round of the FA Cup’.

“It is not important now if you are saying, ‘Okay, we should have a fantastic run in the FA Cup’.

“We have to look step by step and prove in each match that [success in the Cup] is what we really want.”

Provisional squad

Pickford, Kenny, Mina, Keane, Baines, Gueye, Gomes, Walcott, Sigurdsson, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Stekelenburg, Coleman, Zouma, Digne, Davies, Bernard, Lookman, Tosun.
