Everton team news for Crystal Palace confirmed as Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts but Amadou Onana missing

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will start Everton’s crucial game with Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old makes a matchday squad for the first time since playing the first 60 minutes against Arsenal in Sean Dyche’s first game as Blues boss. His return after recovering from a long-term hamstring problem was expected but comes as a significant boost to Everton’s survival push. His last two goals have come against today’s opponents.

While Calvert-Lewin’s return is welcome news, Amadou Onana is not involved after failing to overcome a groin injury in time for the trip to Selhurst Park.

The midfielder’s absence means that, with Abdoulaye Doucoure serving the third game of his three match ban, Dyche is without two of what had been his first choice three in central midfield.

As well as Calvert-Lewin coming into the side, so too does Mason Holgate. Holgate replaces Ben Godfrey and looks set to play right back - ahead of now-fit Nathan Patterson. James Garner keeps his place after making his first league start for Everton against Fulham last week.

After two weeks of 4-4-2, Dyche looks to have reverted to 4-5-1 with Demarai Gray moving out wide and Iwobi taking a place in the middle.

Everton team in full: Pickford; Mykolenko, Tarkowski, Keane, Holgate; Gray, Garner, Iwobi, Gueye, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin.

Substitutes: Begovic, Lonergan, Patterson, Mina, Maupay, Godfrey, Davies, Coady, Simms.
