Everton team news confirmed as Jordan Pickford dropped for Newcastle and Cenk Tosun on bench

Jordan Pickford has been dropped by Carlo Ancelotti and will be replaced by Robin Olsen for today’s game with Newcastle United.

Pickford is on the bench for a Premier League for the first time in his Everton career.

Ancelotti has made five changes in total following last weekend’s defeat to Southampton with Jonjoe Kenny coming in for Ben Godfrey at right-back and Niels Nkounkou replacing the suspended Lucas Digne.

Michael Keane and Yerry Mina make up the rest of the defence in front of debutant Olsen.

Everton are expected to line-up in a changed formation with Ancelotti picking Fabian Delph for a first league start this season alongside Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and the returning Andre Gomes.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, who is captain, plays as does Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

On the bench with Pickford is Cenk Tosun - picked for an Everton matchday squad for first time since January 1- Alex Iwobi, Bernard, Anthony Gordon, Jarrad Branthwaite and Ellis Simms.

Everton are without the injured James Rodriguez and suspended Richarlison.

Starting XI: Olsen; Kenny, Keane, Mina, Nkounkou; Delph, Allan, Doucoure, Gomes; Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin

Substitutes: Pickford, Iwobi, Bernard, Gordon, Branthwaite, Tosun, Simms.
