Everton team news and lineup confirmed as Abdoulaye Doucoure decision made at Aston Villa

Abdoulaye Doucoure has returned to the Everton starting line-up for the first time since March for the trip to Aston Villa.

The midfielder is one of two changes made by Carlo Ancelotti with Mason Holgate also stepping into the 11.

Yerry Mina, who was injured last time out against West Ham United, drops out of the side as does Tom Davies.

Doucoure is playing his first football for Everton since suffering a fractured foot against West Bromwich Albion at the beginning of March.

The Blues look to be setting up with three-at-the-back once more with all of Holgate, Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane starting.

Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne are wing-backs in this system with a trio of Doucoure, Allan and Gylfi Sigurdsson in the centre of midfield.

Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will continue up front, with the latter looking for another goal after scoring in each of Everton’s last two games.

Everton: Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Godfrey; Coleman, Allan, Doucoure, Sigurdsson, Digne; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

Substitutes: Olsen, Virginia, Nkounkou, Delph, Gomes, Davies, Iwobi, Bernard, King.
