Everton team for Manchester City confirmed as Frank Lampard makes four changes

Dominic Calvert-Lewin makes the starting line-up for Everton as the striker completes his injury comeback.

The 25-year-old ended the first part of the season with hamstring, knee and shoulder problems and spent the World Cup working towards regaining fitness. Frank Lampard said he would be in the squad for the trip to Manchester City and has now named him in the starting line-up.

It is a significant call for the Blues boss, who has been cautious with Calvert-Lewin during an injury-blighted season but knows the striker is in need of match fitness and represents Everton's most effective solution to their goalscoring problems ahead of a transfer window in which the club appears required to be savvy.

Neal Maupay makes way for Calvert-Lewin in one of four changes from the team that started the Boxing Day defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Conor Coady also returns to the starting line-up after missing the Wolves match due to the terms of his loan deal. He will partner James Tarkowski and the incoming Ben Godfrey as Lampard moves to playing three centre backs. Demarai Gray also starts - with Anthony Gordon not in the squad. Maupay makes it to the bench but neither Yerry Mina nor Tom Cannon are involved at all.

Pickford; Patterson, Coady, Tarkowski, Godfrey, Mykolenko; Iwobi, Onana, Gueye; Gray, Calvert-Lewin.
