Everton target Rafael Leao sparks dramatic comeback with goalscoring display

Everton target Rafael Leao continued his impressive season on Sunday by sparking a dramatic comeback for Lille.

The ECHO broke the news last week that the young Portuguese forward had been added to the Blues' summer shortlist as Marco Silva and Marcel Brands search for more quality additions to add.

The pair have consistently spoken about the importance of young players to be able to develop their project at Goodison Park, and at 19 years old Leao definitely fits the bill.

The striker has been in impressive form this term, bagging eight goals already in 20 Ligue 1 appearances - with the latest of those coming on Sunday afternoon in dramatic fashion.

The 19-year-old was left on the bench for Lille's visit to Nantes this weekend as Christophe Galtier's side aimed to maintain second place behind runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the visitors found themselves 2-0 down early in the second half thanks to strikes in quick succession from Valentin Eysseric and Kalifa Coulibaly.

Lille brought on Leao just before the hour mark to try and change the game, and it didn't take long for the Everton target to make his impact.

The striker scored in the 62nd minute, just three minutes after entering the action, to spark what turned out to be a dramatic comeback for the visitors.

Lille followed up that goal with another two in quick succession from Nicolas Pepe and Jonathan Bamba to take a 3-2 lead in the 69th minute - and that's the way the match stayed.
