Everton taking special step as country prepares to salute NHS workers again

Everton will light up Goodison Park in royal blue for two important reasons this evening.

The Blues will be joining the rest of the country in honouring NHS workers as they tirelessly continue their efforts on the frontline of the battle against the coronavirus outbreak.

The "Goodison" sign that sits atop the Park End Stand will be cast in blue from 8pm on Thursday night.

Wembley Stadium, London’s Royal Albert Hall and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff were among the landmarks turned blue for last week's show of appreciation - and Goodison Park will join in as a second round of applause across the country takes place.

Everton's tribute is doubling up to shine a light on World Autism Awareness Day to spread awareness and increase acceptance of autism.

This marks the latest special step Everton have mad during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the club launching its Blue Family campaign last month to maintain contact with vulnerable and isolated fans.

During the coronavirus pandemic, people are reminded to stay at home to support the NHS and help save lives. For full details of the Government guidance, visit here.
