Everton supporters rally around Bernard with fantastic messages following Tottenham display

Everton fans have rallied around Bernard with positive messages following his performance from the bench in Wednesday evening's FA Cup win over Spurs.

The Blues secured their place in the quarter-finals of the competition with a dramatic 5-4 win over Jose Mourinho's side at Goodison Park, with extra time being needed to separate the teams.

And it was Bernard's strike in the added half hour which proved to be the winner, latching onto a brilliant chipped pass from Gylfi Sigurdsson and coolly lashing his effort beyond Hugo Lloris.

Having almost left the club in the January transfer window, this was the Brazilian's first chance to make his mark again for the Blues - and he took it in some style.

However, after reportedly receiving some critical messages on social media, Everton fans took it upon themselves to rally around the 28-year-old with messages of positivity on Friday evening.

Bernard is a well-liked member of the squad among much of the fanbase, and many supporters took to Twitter to remind the Blues star just how much he is appreciated at Goodison.

The messages were clearly well received by the winger, who seemingly took to Twitter later in the evening to address the messages himself.

A simple tweet from Bernard on Friday evening read: "You’re awesome, thanks."
