Everton will be without star defender Lucas Digne for this weekend's match against Leeds United.
Due to the truncated nature of the season, matches are being played in a much shorter time frame than usual and that has led to a significant increase in injuries throughout the Premier League.
Leeds know about that all too well as they currently have five players out on the sidelines and Everton have also suffered, with Digne the latest to be ruled out.
Our sister site, the Liverpool Echo, reports that the Frenchman has suffered an ankle injury in training this week, which may require surgery, and now faces two months on the sidelines.
Digne has established himself as one of the best attacking full-backs in the country since he arrived on Merseyside from Barcelona in 2018 and is an integral part of the way they play.
The left-back has four assists in eight league games so far this season including two in their 3-2 victory against Fulham last weekend, so will be sorely missed by Carlo Ancelotti.
It means the Toffees will be without both of their first choice full-backs for the match with captain Seamus Coleman also resigned to the treatment room after suffering a thigh injury while training with the Republic of Ireland during the international break.
Alex Iwobi has slotted into replace Coleman in the right wing-back position and youngster Niels Nkounkou is the most likely to take Digne's spot, though Fabian Delph also has experience at left-back.
Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains a long-term absentee for Everton while Leeds will be without Pablo Hernandez, Diego Llorente, Jamie Shackleton, Gaetano Berardi and Adam Foreshaw for the match.
