Everton suffer double injury blow ahead of Manchester United trip

Duncan Ferguson has confirmed a double injury blow for Everton ahead of their trip to face Manchester United on Sunday.

The temporary manager was confirmed earlier this week as being in charge for the Blues match at Old Trafford this weekend after successfully motivating the players to a rousing 3-1 win over Chelsea at Goodison Park.

However, the boss will be without two of his top performers from that match for this weekend's game.

Morgan Schneiderlin returned to form against Frank Lampard's side last time out but has been ruled out for two weeks, while the in-form Theo Walcott is out for three weeks - both with calf troubles.

Ferguson said: "Theo Walcott's out for three weeks, calf. Morgan Schneiderlin, two weeks, calf.

"We've got Fabian Delph, Yerry Mina and Seamus Coleman in light training, they've trained the last two or three days. And we've got the long term injuries.

"Digne trained this morning, a little bit tight but it's a strain."

"Very disappointing considering how they [Walcott and Schneiderlin] played.

"Obviously Theo on the counter attack, Morgan covering the space in front of the back four. It's a big blow, but we'll move on."
