Everton striker scores another hat-trick in friendly after catching eye of Rafa Benitez

Everton striker Lewis Dobbin scored his second hat-trick in as many games as the club's under-23s secured another pre-season victory.

David Unsworth's side took on Guiseley on Saturday afternoon and came out as 4-1 winners, with all the goals being scored in the first half of the match.

Dobbin's hat-trick was added to with a strike from Tom Cannon, with both continuing to impress after their involvement in the senior side's victory over Accrington Stanley at Finch Farm last weekend.

Guiseley got a goal back in the first half through Chuk Molokwu from a set piece, but Unsworth's side saw the game out throughout the second half.

Earlier in the week, the U23s had begun their pre-season preparations with a 4-2 win over Warrington Rylands, with Dobbin bagging a hat-trick in that match as well.

Cannon was also on target for the young Blues on that occasion as he continues what has been an impressive summer so far, after he bagged in the senior side's win over Accrington last weekend.

Dobbin has also been seen training with the first-team players since the arrival of Rafa Benitez.

Following the earlier win against Warrington Rylands, Unsworth told Everton’s official website, “It doesn’t matter if it’s pre-season or the last game of the season, strikers like to score goals and Lewis has started really well."
