Everton striker Sandro Ramirez denied first goal since 2017 by Joel Robles clash

Everton striker Sandro Ramirez was denied his first goal in almost 21 months after being hacked down by his former Blues team-mate Joel Robles just eight minutes into his debut on loan for Real Valladolid.

Real Betis goalkeeper Robles , who played alongside his Spanish compatriot at Goodison Park during the 2017/18 season, was given his marching orders for the rash challenge just outside his penalty area but Sandro was injured in the clash and was substituted for Turkish international Enes Unal.

Sandro joined Everton after netting 16 goals in 31 games for Malaga in the 2016/17 season but netted just once in 16 games for the Blues against Atalanta in a 5-1 Europa League home defeat on November 23 2017 before returning on loan to his homeland, first to Sevilla, then Real Sociedad and now Valladolid.

However, the 24-year-old has failed to rediscover his scoring touch in La Liga and has now made 42 appearances since exiting Goodison Park without finding the net with his total goalless run extending to 44 games.

Despite arriving at Everton for a relatively modest £5.2million fee, Sandro's Everton contract which runs until 2021 is understood to make him one of the club's high earners.
