Everton striker on course for surprise Belgium loan move as talks gather pace today

Young Everton striker Fraser Hornby looks set to spend the season playing in Belgium.

The 19-year-old will hold talks with top flight side KV Kortrijk today ahead of a possible loan move.

Kortrijk finished fourth in the Belgian first division last season and have won two of their opening four games this term, defeating Anderlecht 4-2 at the weekend.

Hornby had attracted interest from a host of domestic clubs with a short-term move to League One deemed the most likely following the close of the Championship window earlier this month.

But in a surprise move, the teenage forward - a Premier League 2 title winner with the Blues last term - is closing in on a switch to the continent.

Hornby is due to meet Kortrijk officials later today with the Belgian outfit hoping to complete his loan move before the end of the week.
