Everton striker Ellis Simms suffers cruel injury ahead of play-off final

Ellis Simms missed the League One play-off final after reportedly injuring himself with the last kick of training yesterday.

The on-loan Everton striker was in the frame to lead the line at Wembley against Lincoln today but was ruled out through injury.

Simms, who has scored 10 times for Blackpool since joining on loan in January, is said to have been practising penalties when the injury struck.
