Everton striker Cenk Tosun sends pointed message to Marco Silva after Carabao Cup victory

Everton striker Cenk Tosun has sent a pointed message to Marco Silva following the Toffees' Carabao Cup fourth round victory over Watford at Goodison Park.

The Blues struck twice in the second half to seal a spot in Thursday's quarter-final draw after goals from Mason Holgate and Richarlison, the latter coming in extra time.

Silva made numerous changes for the midweek clash in the cup competition, utilising a number of forgotten aces in the squad, and Tosun was among them, appearing as a second-half substitute.

The Turkish forward featured for just the third time this season in Everton's 2-0 victory, with only one of his previous appearances coming in the Premier League, and sent a cheeky message to his manager after the match.

"Feels good to be back and contributing," he posted on Instagram, alongside an emoji of a winking face, a strength symbol and a loveheart.

Tosun's last appearance came in a 35-minute cameo off the bench during the 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United in the Premier League, which followed on from another substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup victory over Lincoln City.

Despite playing just 26 minutes in the cup competition this season, Tosun has been amongst the action by contributing two assists - with the latest coming after he set up Richarlison's late effort on Tuesday.
