Everton striker Cenk Tosun gets transfer message from captain of European side

Besiktas captain Burak Yilmaz has issued a transfer plea to Everton striker Cenk Tosun.

The Blues are willing to listen to offers for Tosun, who scored 64 goals in 142 matches for the Turkish side prior to his move to Goodison Park.

And Yilmaz has reportedly urged Tosun to make a Super Lig return to his former club.

He was quoted by Turkish outlet Star as saying: "All I have to say to Cenk Tosun is – Come to Besiktas."

Tosun has netted 10 times in 47 appearances for Everton since joining in January 2018 for a £27million fee.

But he has struggled for playing time so far this season, making only two starts in the Premier League.

Speculation around his future had already begun to build ahead of the January window opening, with Leeds United and Crystal Palace linked as well as Besiktas.

Last month Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi appeared to rule out a swoop for Tosun when he addressed the transfer talk.

Cebi told  Hayatta Besiktas Radio station  [via  SportWitness ]: "I heard rumours about Anderson Talisca, Vincent Aboubakar and  Cenk Tosun  returning.

"None of them are true. Unfortunately, we closed these chapters. We can’t give the money they want."
