Everton striker Cenk Tosun completes move to Crystal Palace

Cenk Tosun has completed a loan move to Crystal Palace.

The Everton striker has been a long-time target for the Selhurst Park club and manager Roy Hodgson admitted he's been "heavily scouted" by the Eagles.

He said: "Cenk has been heavily scouted by the club. We're very pleased to have him with us and know the qualities he can bring to the squad.

"He is in contention to be in tomorrow's squad. I'm very grateful for Everton to allow this to be done in time. It's important as we still have eight players missing.”

Tosun had struggled for game-time under former boss Marco Silva and has not featured under new manager Carlo Ancelotti.

And with the 28-year-old needing to be playing regularly in the build-up to this summer's European Championships, he has pushed for a move out of Goodison.

Everton have been open to offers for Tosun for the past two transfer windows but the club had denied him a loan move last January.

But after director of football Marcel Brands and Ancelotti met this week, the decision was taken to allow Tosun to leave on a temporary deal.

The Blues value the striker, signed from Besiktas two years ago, at £20m and will look to sell him this summer.

Besiktas have been trying to find the money to bring Tosun back this month but it is understood he has always preferred to remain in the Premier League.
