Everton striker booked in for medical as surprise loan move close to completion

Everton striker Fraser Hornby will undergo a medical with Belgian outfit KV Kortrijk on Monday ahead of sealing a season-long loan move.

The 19-year-old travelled to Belgium to meet Kortrijk officials on Wednesday and will be in the country again at the start of next week to complete his switch.

Kortrijk finished fourth in the Belgian top flight last season and the club are owned by Vincent Tan, who also owns Cardiff City.

Hornby had been attracting interest from two Championship clubs and then following the close of the transfer window, a move to either League One or Scotland looked on the cards.

But Kortrijk made their move and will tie up Hornby's signing at the beginning of next week.

Beni Baningime, meanwhile, had been hoping to secure a loan move to Denmark, with Brondby and Silkeborg both interested in the Everton midfielder.

However the 20-year-old's hopes of a move to Scandanavia have been dashed after talks stalled.
