Everton starting line up against Chelsea as Mason Holgate returns

Carlo Ancelotti has recalled Mason Holgate and Gylfi Sigurdsson to the Everton starting line-up for tonight’s game with Chelsea - as Anthony Gordon is back in the matchday squad.

It appears as though Ancelotti has opted to play Ben Godfrey at left-back, in the absence of both Lucas Digne and Fabian Delph.

Niels Nkounkou is, once again, left out of the matchday squad.

Jordan Pickford starts in goal with Holgate, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Godfrey in front of him in what is being touted by some as a return to 4-4-2.

Alex Iwobi, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan and Sigurdsson, who is captain tonight, play ahead of them with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin the recognised forwards.

Robin Olsen is fit again and takes his place on the bench alongside Jonjoe Kenny, Cenk Tosun, Bernard, Andre Gomes. Tom Davies and Gordon who is back in the 18 for the first time since October’s visit to Southampton.
