Everton starlet Anthony Gordon sends message after missing out on Watford Carabao Cup squad

Anthony Gordon sent out a clear message of patience as his wait to be handed an opportunity at Everton continues following the Carabao Cup fourth round victory over Watford.

The starlet, 18, has been in impressive form for David Unsworth's under-23 side this season, scoring five goals and creating two in seven Premier League 2 appearances.

Silva has since admitted he is close to breaking into his senior plans but despite being included in the 20-man squad ahead of the showdown with Watford, Gordon was ultimately omitted from the 18.

In a picture posted to social media shortly after the victory, the forward wrote: 'Patience is not about waiting, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.'

Everton booked their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-final with a 2-0 victory over the Hornets. Goals from Mason Holgate and Richarlison were enough to see of their Premier League rivals.

Gordon could feature for Unsworth's side on Wednesday when they take on PSV in the Premier League International Cup.
