Everton star Richarlison shares pride after prestigious award for off-field work

Richarlison is delighted to have been named Everton’s PFA Community Champion for the 2019/20 season.

It was announced on Saturday the centre-forward has followed in the footsteps of team-mate Yerry Mina who claimed the honour last year.

The Selecao star has been recognised for his off-field work for both Everton in the Community as well as back home in Brazil.

Following the coronavirus outbreak the 23-year-old organised for 500 food parcels, which all contained one month's worth of supplies, to be delivered to families in his hometown of Nova Venecia.

And that is just one example of how the Blues forward has been helping out.

During the past season Richarlison invited a youngster who was being bullied to train at Finch Farm.

He also surprised another young fan, who had recently lost his mother, by showing up at a grassroots training session.

In a post to Instagram, Richarlison shared a message describing the pride he feels after receiving the award.

He wrote: "From the beginning of my career, I set out to lend my voice to causes that are really important to me and to my community!

"I am very proud to receive this recognition."

The centre-forward also had a stellar season on the pitch scoring 13 times in the Premier League.
