Everton star Richarlison sends message to NHS and healthcare workers

Everton star Richarlison has sent a message and round of applause to healthcare professionals in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Many around the country have been undertaking periods of self-isolation to attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19, which has brought many industries to a halt.

It was announced on Thursday that professional football in England would be further suspended until April 30, extending the absence by 27 days.

Everton's squad have been self-isolating for over a week with Finch Farm closed, with the players having individual fitness regimes to keep their conditions high over this period.

Richarlison has been active on social media in that time, and his latest post on Instagram was dedicated to healthcare professionals around the world.

Re-posting a video from Geovana Velasco, wife of the Brazilian's agent Renato Velasco, the 22-year-old gave a round of applause to those in the NHS.

The post read: "While we are all protected in our home, healthcare professionals are facing this crisis.

"Our feeling is one of eternal gratitude to the entire medical, nursing, nursing technicians & cleaning staff. A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS."

On Friday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered all restaurants, cafes and gyms across the country to close in an attempt to slow the outbreak of COVID-19.
