Everton star Richarlison responds to European Super League plans

Everton forward Richarlison has provided his simple response to plans to create a European Super League.

On Sunday 12 clubs from across the continent, with six of those being from the Premier League, announced that they had agreed to establish a new competition called "The Super League".

Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool were the English clubs signed up to the proposals - joined by three La Liga sides (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid) and three from Serie A (AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus).

Since reports about the plans were first released on Sunday afternoon there has been a huge backlash across the footballing world.

Fans, pundits, governing bodies and politicians have all shared their disdain for the proposals over the last 24 hours - and players are now starting to add their voices.

Richarlison has now taken to social media to share his simple response, firstly showing his support for a video clip of an impassioned Gary Neville speech on Sky Sports on Sunday.

The Everton star quote tweeted the segment with a number of clapping hands, before also drawing attention to a message from Mesut Ozil.

The Fenerbahce midfielder wrote: "Kids grow up dreaming to win the World Cup and the Champions League - not any Super League.

"The enjoyment of big games is that they only happen once or twice a year, not every week.

"Really hard to understand for all football fans out there."

The Blues forward simply responded with a comment translating to, "That's it," clearly showing his support for the sentiment.

The Brazil international follows Yannick Bolasie as Everton players to have their say on the issue, with club legend Peter Reid also condemning the plans earlier on Monday morning.
