Everton star player a 'guy you can go to war with' says team-mate

Lucas Digne is the "kind of guy you can go to war with" says an Everton team-mate.

And Morgan Schneiderlin hopes the Blues' left-back stays at Goodison for a "long time" after a fine debut season.

Digne was named the Club's Player of the Season and shared the Players' Player award at the end of season Dixies.

The 25-year-old joined from Barcelona last summer, in a deal that could be worth £22m, and has overtaken Leighton Baines as Everton's first-choice left-back.

Compatriot Schneiderlin, who enjoyed a late season revival, is the latest Blues player to heap praise on Digne.

"I hope he can be at the club for a long time," he said.

“Lucas is the kind of guy you can go to war with.

“He is a big character and, for sure, he is as good a left-back as I have played with.”
