Everton star Lucas Digne sends message to Boris Johnson over coronavirus

Lucas Digne has seemingly sent a message to Boris Johnson on the subject of coronavirus.

The Blues defender took to Twitter after the Prime Minister today outlined the latest Government stance on combating spread of the disease.

Mr Johnson said schools are not being closed for now, with "the scientific advice" suggesting that could "do more harm than good".

The BBC posted a video of the PM speaking about that decision - and Digne replied with a trio of 'see-no-evil monkey' emojis.

The left-back also retweeted a message from Cesc Fabregas, which questioned the approach taken by the Government.

Addressing the issue of schools and Mr Johnson's policy, Fabregas posted: "So, you’re saying and admitting the disease will spread so much over the next weeks/months but you’re not closing schools “just yet”.

"You will have to close them eventually anyway. Why not do it now and avoid more trouble? #LetsBeResponsable"

Plenty of Blues fans had their say on Digne's tweet and praised the player for his perceived take.

EvertonFCjosh simply said: "Yes Lucas".

Sean Flair posted: "You tell them [Lucas]".

While EFC Tom called Digne a "Scouser".

Earlier today Mr Johnson also indicated that bans on large public events such as football matches are being considered, but no action is imminent.

Everton vs Liverpool in Premier League is currently scheduled to take place next Monday night at Goodison Park.
