Stoke-on-Trent-born Dobbin, who made five first team appearances for Everton last season, joined the League One side on a season long loan on August 3.

Rather than spearheading the attack, Dobbin has been playing as a support striker or winger for the East Midlanders and the goal against Torquay doubled his tally to two in 23 games so far this term having previously netted in the Papa John’s Trophy against Mansfield Town – Everton Under-21s next opponents in the competition at Goodison Park on Wednesday, November 30 (7pm). Derby County head coach Paul Warne was in good spirits when describing the wonder-strike and told RamsTV : “I didn’t see it! No I did, that’s a lie."
