Everton squad take part in 'friendly' game at Goodison Park

The Everton squad took part in a warm-up game at Goodison this morning to help prepare for the Premier League's return.

Carlo Ancelotti's side welcome Liverpool a week tomorrow and the Blues boss arranged for a practice game to be contested.

Everton had explored the possibility of securing a game against local Football League opposition.

But today's game was in-house with two teams made up of players in the squad.

Ancelotti was keen for his players to refamiliarise themselves with playing at Goodison and doing so without any fans.

All 92 of the remaining Premier League matches will be played behind-closed-doors with only 300 people allowed inside of stadiums on matchdays.

Ancelotti has injury concerns ahead of the 236th Merseyside derby with Yerry Mina and Theo Walcott ruled out.

While Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph have missed some training sessions this week with slight problems.
