Everton squad 'believe in Marco Silva's quality' says goal-scoring hero

The Everton squad have never stopped 'believing' in Marco Silva, according to goal hero Bernard.

Bernard opened the scoring against West Ham at Goodison yesterday with a fine solo effort to set the Blues on course for a first league win in over six weeks.

Everton dominated the game but only made sure of victory in time added on when substitute Gylfi Sigurdsson hit a spectacular second from outside the area.

Silva was under mounting pressure leading up to the game following a run of four straight league defeats but Bernard insists the squad have never wavered in their belief of the manager.

"We believe in the quality, knowledge and professionalism of Marco Silva," Bernard said.

"But we also need to believe in ourselves to help us get out of this situation.

"We have the quality, we are a good team with excellent players and know we should be doing better.

"My immediate objective is for Everton to get out of the position we are in.  But my main focus is to help the team by scoring goals, to help Everton achieve things."
