Everton squad and Marco Silva in heartwarming gesture for Andre Gomes

Marco Silva and several members of the Everton squad are planning to visit the injured Andre Gomes at home.

The midfielder is recovering from an operation on the fracture dislocation he suffered in his right ankle against Spurs last weekend.

Gomes had the surgery on Monday and was discharged from Aintree Hospital on Tuesday and made sure to visit his team-mates and manager at Finch Farm.

But the 26-year-old has now been told he must spend the next two weeks resting up at home before he can begin his rehabilitation.

Silva, who says Everton hope he can play again before the end of the season, was in text conversation with Gomes yesterday and says he will make sure to visit the Portuguese international.

“It is important and, for sure, I will do it, not just because of the international break," he said.

“For the next two weeks he can't do anything until but it is possible he will come here. In the meantime, for sure, some players who are living around him will go to see and I will do the same.”
