Everton set to make Marco Silva decision today as David Moyes and Tim Cahill considered

Everton are set to make a decision on Marco Silva's future later today with the Portuguese coach braced for the sack.

And former Blues boss David Moyes is favourite to come in as his replacement should Silva lose his job.

The 42-year-old is on the brink of being axed following Wednesday night's 5-2 humiliation against Liverpool at Anfield - a defeat that leaves Everton in the bottom three.

Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has been reluctant to pull the trigger on Silva and was last night weighing up what move to make as the team's season reached a new low.

Appointing Moyes has been discussed at length as has the possibility of bringing Tim Cahill in as the Scot's assistant manager.

Everton face Chelsea at Goodison on Saturday in the early kick-off but Silva's hopes of still being in charge for the game are fading fast.
