Everton set to lose key Marcel Brands scout to Premier League rival

Everton will need to find a new chief UK scout with Martyn Glover set to depart Goodison.

The talent-spotter is headed for Southampton where he is expected to be appointed as the club's new head of recruitment.

Glover joined Everton in 2016 as a key member of former director of football Steve Walsh's team.

The former West Ham and Sunderland recruitment chief was named as the Blues' chief scout but his role changed following the arrival of Marcel Brands.

Glover retained his position until December when Everton added Gretar Steinsson to their recruitment team.

Steinsson was named as chief European scout while Glover was given the same responsibilities for the UK.
