Everton set mammoth Richarlison price tag to warn off Barcelona transfer interest

Barcelona will have to pay a whopping £143million if they want to sign Richarlison from Everton this summer.

That’s the figure at which the Merseysiders will do business if anyone wants to land the Brazilian.

Richarlison was the subject of a shock £100m bid from the Catalan giants in January.

But the offer did not meet with Everton’s valuation of the player and they knocked it back.

Now clubs wishing to land the 19-cap forward during this transfer window will be told they have to fork out 160m euros if they are serious about getting him.

Former Goodison Park gaffer Ronald Koeman took over at the Nou Camp last week after Quique Setien was sacked.

And he has been charged with overhauling with overhauling the club’s ageing squad on the back of the 8-2 thumping they were given by Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals.

Richarlison, 23, arrived at Everton in a £50m transfer from Watford in 2018, shortly after Koeman had left the club and Marco Silva had been brought in to replace him.

Barcelona are set for a mass overhaul of players with the vast majority of their squad being put up for sale.

One of those is Luis Suarez who has reacted angrily to the news having not been told personally before it was made public.

He said: “There has been talk of some names that the president suggested, changes that could be made, but nobody has told me that they want to get rid of me.

"If that is what the club wants it would be nice if the director responsible for these decisions spoke directly with me. It’s better than leaking if I’m one of the players they want to leave. We’ll see what happens.

"I want what’s best for the club as well and right now my intention is to stay on but if the club decide I’m no longer wanted, I have no problem talking to those that decide. Koeman? I haven’t spoken to him yet.”
