Everton set Jean-Philippe Gbamin return date as training plan revealed

Jean-Philippe Gbamin will return to Finch Farm after the next international break with hope to play before the end of the year.

Gbamin, who has suffered over 12 months of injury hell since joining the Blues last summer, is stepping up his rehabilitation from an Achilles problem in a suburb of Paris.

Carlo Ancelotti says the 25-year-old will remain in France - working with the coaching company Odysium - until after the international break which follows Everton's game with Manchester United on November 7.

But then he is due back at Finch Farm for the first time since the summer.

The Blues return after the break with a trip to Fulham on November 21 - when Richarlison will be eligible to play again following his three match suspension - before finishing the month with a home game against Leeds United a week later.

“I expect to have him back after the international break," Ancelotti confirmed.

"That means he can be back at the end of November to start to train with the team.”

Gbamin has played only 135 minutes of football since arriving from Mainz for £25m in August 2019 after a major thigh injury.

The Ivory Coast international was hoping to return to action during the Premier League's re-start in June and July.

But he suffered an Achilles injury in training and needed surgery.

Everton are back in action tomorrow, away to Newcastle United in a 2pm kick off in the Premier League.
