Everton set Idrissa Gueye asking price amid Manchester United transfer rumours

Everton are looking for a fee of around £35million for midfielder Idrissa Gueye, amid Manchester United transfer speculation.

United are in the market for a new midfielder after seeing Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera depart the club this year, and Gueye has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months.

The 29-year-old Senegalese international has made 108 appearances in the centre of midfield for Everton since joining from Aston Villa in 2016, and has been touted as a possible reinforcement to United's midfield ranks.

Reports suggested PSG wanted to sign him in January, but saw bids of £21.5m and £26m knocked back. The French champions have now signed Herrera on a free transfer.

And now the Liverpool Echo claims Everton will stick by their £35m asking price this summer that United have been reluctant to pay in the past.

The Echo add United are admirers of Gueye, but if Everton insist on their price tag then it will spell the end of any potential move.

The MEN yesterday revealed United are monitoring Adrien Rabiot, who is set to leave PSG on a free transfer. But they will face competition from many of Europe's biggest clubs.
