Everton set for Allan boost with important Premier League and FA Cup matches incoming

Everton hope to have Allan back in contention to play this week in a boost to the club's European ambitions.

The Brazilian midfielder has been missing since damaging his hamstring in the mid-December game with Leicester City.

Allan has been sidelined for almost two months and Carlo Ancelotti has not been able to use him for the last 10 league and cup matches.

But the Blues are hopeful the 30-year-old will be declared fit this week to return to the matchday squad with Everton facing Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup on Wednesday night before taking on Fulham on Sunday evening.

The return of Allan would only leave Jean-Philippe Gbamin as still unavailable although Ancelotti says club medical staff will have to assess the tight calf suffered by James Rodriguez in the 3-3 draw with Manchester United.

"It's an important period," Ancelotti said.

"In this moment physically we are good.

"We will have Allan back next week so we will have all the squad back.

"I hope and think we can manage this period well."

Everton face Spurs and Fulham this week before a double header with Manchester City and Liverpool next week.

The fixture list eases after that but FA Cup progress and the postponed trip to Aston Villa, would still have to be fitted in.
