Everton's valuation of Idrissa Gueye dampens Manchester United interest

Manchester United have been put off by Everton's valuation of Idrissa Gueye.

The Old Trafford club are admirers of the Blues midfielder but are reluctant to pay upwards of £35m for the 29-year-old.

United rate Gueye highly and reports have strongly linked them with a move but the Red Devils are unlikely to take their interest further as long as Everton stand firm on their price.

Paris Saint Germain wanted the Senegal international  in January but saw two bids rejected by the Blues.

The first offer knocked back was worth £21.5m before a second bid, of £26m, on deadline day was rejected.

Marco Silva wants to keep Gueye at Goodison this summer but admits the player's future is out of his hands.

Gueye labelled the prospect of a switch to French champions PSG  a 'dream' and said he had not given hope of a move this summer.

But United are unlikely to firm up their interest in the former Aston Villa man with Everton's current valuation of a player, who still has three years left on his contract, too high for them.
