Everton's transfer task in resolving the futures of young players

Everton need to resolve the futures of several young players as part of another lengthy transfer to-do-list this summer.

The Blues have already released a clutch of names from the club's under-23s squad and sold Fraser Hornby and Kieran Dowell.

Now, Everton are looking to find clubs for a raft of others and have until October 16, when the window to do business with EFL clubs closes, in which to complete their business.

Lewis Gibson

The 20-year-old return to Everton this week to begin pre-season training with Carlo Ancelotti but the plan remains to send him out on loan.

Gibson, who signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal in January, spent the second-half of last term on loan at Fleetwood Town in League One, where he impressed.

The intention is for Gibson to secure either a Championship or Bundesliga loan for next season but a move is unlikely to materialise until later in the window.

Denis Adeniran

Everton are hoping to set the midfielder up with a loan for the 2020-21 season.

Fleetwood Town are believed to have shown interest in the past in the 22-year-old who has yet to taste loan football.

Adeniran is into the final 12 months of his Goodison contract so a new deal - followed by a loan switch - has been suggested.

Nathan Broadhead

The talented forward is available for sale, the ECHO understands.

Broadhead impressed when with the first-team in pre-season last summer and secured a loan with Burton Albion.

Now into the final year of his deal - having signed an extension last August - the Blues are prepared to sell the 22-year-old.

Callum Connolly

Connolly's long association with Everton is expected to come to an end this summer.

The 22-year-old is into the final year of his contract and the Blues are ready to sell the Litherland-born player.

Connolly spent the second-half of last season with Fleetwood Town, after his spell with Lincoln City was cut short.

Matty Pennington

Centre-half Pennington will leave Everton this summer and is another who will bring the curtain down on a long Blues association.

Twenty-five-old Pennington has been sent out of six loans during his time at the club and is ready to find a permanent club to build the next stage of his career.

Pennington was at Hull City last season.

Josh Bowler

Bowler joined Pennington in spending the campaign at the KCOM Stadium.

He too is into the final year of his Everton contract but hopes to land another loan after injury dogged the second-half of his season with the Championship club.

There has been talk that the Blues have the option to extend his contract by another 12 months but that is yet to be confirmed.

Beni Baningime

Everton are in advanced talks with Blackpool over the season-long loan of the midfielder.

Baningime, 21, has two years left on his Blues deal and hopes to kick-start a career hampered by recent injuries, with a season in League One.

Talks are on-going between the clubs but the expectation is that his loan can be arranged.
