Everton's transfer stance on Diego Costa confirmed after rumoured 'Farhad Moshiri demand'

Everton are not looking to make a move for Diego Costa, the ECHO understands.

The Atletico Madrid striker was surprisingly linked with the Blues this weekend after it was claimed that Farhad Moshiri wants to explore signing the former Chelsea man.

Everton are believed to want to add to the forward line this summer but talk of a move for the 30-year-old has been played down at Goodison.

Director of football Marcel Brands has previously said the Blues would not invest heavily in players outside of the 20-25/26 age range.

And with the club needing to reduce their wage bill, a move for Costa would go against that clear transfer strategy.

Everton have not ruled out adding older players to Marco Silva's squad.

But they don't intend on splashing the cash in order to do so.
